Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Single brooded in August and September.

Observations: The moth can sometimes be plentiful at sugar as on 2 September 1990 in Short Wood when some thirty moths were attracted to fifteen sugared trees. As it's name suggests, when disturbed this moth has a tendency to scuttle around "on foot" rather than fly.
