Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Observations: The typical form is predominant in the Northamptonshire populations of the moth although the brighter reddish brown form ab. corusca occurs, it seems to be uncommon.

Confusion Species: Lesser-spotted Pinion

L.O.N.: 1905. Overstone. Once at sugar.
