  Middle-barred Minor Oligia fasciuncula

B&F: 2340

ABH: 73.176

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July with a possible very small occasional second brood.

Observations: The species is particularly common in the static Pitsford Water light traps as shown by the detail of the number of moths trapped for the past five years. Viz:-
1999 -   49
2000 - 106
2001 -   64
2002 -   63
2003 - 104
In these years almost all of the moths were seen in June but one moth was seen in September. In earlier years moths are more evenly divided between June and July with occasionally late records in August and September. These late records suggest a very occasional small second brood in some years.

L.O.N.: 1907. Many localities. Common.

First Record: 1843, Whitwell.
