Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Grassland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in August and September.

Observations: A comparison between an 80 watt m.v. light trap operating in a Wellingborough urban garden in 1951 and two static 125 watt m.v. light traps operating at Pitsford Water fifty years later in 2001 produces the following data:-
Wellingborough:
First record 9 August 1951, last record
5 October 1951.Total moths recorded 497.
Pitsford:
First record 26 July 2001, last record
15 September 2001. Total moths recorded 355.
At both sites the traps were operated throughout the flight period of the moth.
