  The Crescent Helotropha leucostigma

B&F: 2368

ABH: 73.119

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Wetland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in August and September.

Localities: Salcey Forest, Irchester Country Park, Cook’s Spinney and Helpston.

Although a wetland moth, a good proportion of the records are from garden light traps suggesting wanderers from nearby colonies along rivers and marshy areas. Even in suitable localities the moth is almost always seen in small numbers at light.

L.O.N.: Unrecorded.

First Record: 1882, Hull & Tomalin.
