  Twin-spotted Wainscot Lenisa geminipuncta

B&F: 2370

ABH: 73.139

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Wetland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in August and September.

Localities: Salcey Forest, Yardley Chase, Pitsford Water and Boughton Park.

Observations: The moth was fairly common at light on 12 August 1995 at Whitewater Reservoir. It is almost certainly under recorded and is probably present in most unworked reed-beds especially in the east of the county. The moth wanders well away from its breeding site as shown by an example taken in my Kettering garden m.v. light trap on 8 August 2003. The nearest reed-bed is about a mile away.

First Record: 1950, Pooles, Peterborough.
