Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Single brooded from June to August.

Observations: The moth was particularly common at an m.v. light trap running in a Wellingborough garden in the 1950’s with the best year being 1951 when 531 moths were taken between 10 June and 24 August. As a comparison the year 2000 was the most productive recent year at the Pitsford Water light traps when 319 moths were recorded between 12 June and 19 August.

L.O.N.: 1907. Several localities. Fairly common.
