Observations: The moth was first discovered in the UK in 2002, and was local to the Dungeness area of Kent for a number of years following this. Others have been recorded as presumed migrants along the south coast and southern counties. Recently the species appears to have started to expand its range nand has been recorded in neighbouring vice-counties such as Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire in the last couple of years. Fuirst recorded in VC32 at two sites on the same night, both in garden moth traps, in Oundle and Thrapston. The adult is superficially similar to Pale Mottled Willow, but the reddish-brown reniform stigma is a useful indicator for this species.
