Observations: A comparison of returns from a light trap running in a Wellingborough garden fifty years ago and recent returns from the two Pitsford Water static light traps are as follows. Viz:-
Wellingborough 1951-1955. Monthly totals recorded.
April     May   June   July   August   Sept       Oct
   0          0         1       1         1         12         11
Pitsford Water 2001-2005. Monthly totals recorded.
April     May   June   July   August    Sept      Oct
   1          6       4      16        12         39          10

With the majority of the Wellingborough moths flying in the autumn this comparison shows the moth to be spread over the months more and on the wing rather earlier nowadays.

First Record: 1902, Victoria County History.
