Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Wetland.

Flight Period: Single brooded from June to August.

Record: 11 August 2007 Stanwick Lakes (R. Baylis) and 30 June 1986 Blatherwyke Lake (D. Howton).

Observations: This species had very few records until shortly after The Millenium. Since approx 2007 the species appears to have increased in frequency. Earlier localities are Borough Fen Decoy 1975, Bedford Purlieus to 1964 and Easton Hornstocks 1955. The first VC32 record was taken in a garden m.v. light trap in Wellingborough on 11 June 1952. The species has four recognised forms, two of which are depicted here.
