Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Observations: Returns from the Pitsford Water static m.v. light traps for the decade to 2009 show considerable variations in abundance with an annual high of sixty-seven moths and a low of five giving an annual average of twenty-three moths. The moth was particularly plentiful in actinic light traps left under beech in 1974 at Grafrton Park Wood.
