Observations: Generally historically
this species was rather less common in the county than its congener
the Plain Golden Y, (A. jota). Currently the reverse seems
to apply and certainly this is borne out by the records from the static
Pitsford Water light traps. Returns for the ten years from 2000 to
2009 show an overall total of one hundred and thirty-six Beautiful
and one hundred and seven Plain Golden Y moths recorded.
