Distribution and Abundance: Scarce

Primary Habitat: Gardens

Flight Period: Double brooded from May to August, taken from earlier records.

Records: 31 July 2010 Greatworth (T. Stokes), 30 June 1988 Cottesbrooke Park (P. Horsnail) and 29 September 2010 Woodnewton (T. Smith).

Observations: This species has markedly declined in the county in more recent years. Formerly it was regarded as common at Castor Hanglands but has not been seen there for at least forty years and at Bedford Purlieus it was last seen in 1969. The moth was regularly taken at m.v. light in Wellingborough in the early 1950’s with an average of two moths annually and an overall flight period from 28 May to 30 August.

L.O.N.: 1907. Several localities. Rather common.
