Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Grassland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Localities: Yardley Chase, Weldon Park, Fineshade and Sutton Heath.

Observations: I have usually seen the moth as a singleton or in very small numbers at light in the county. The prime site for the species in Northamptonshire seems to be Collyweston Quarry where on 22 May 1993 the caterpillars were common after dark feeding on tufted vetch.
