Status: Former resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rare - no modern records

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June.

Localities and Last Record: Hazelborough Wood 1950’s, Harringworth Wood 1938 and Castor Hanglands pre 1960. Last record 1968 Salcey Forest (K. Baskcomb).

Observations: The moth was regarded as common at Castor Hanglands by R. E. M. Pilcher in his unpublished paper on “The Lepidoptera of Castor Hanglands and Ailsworth Heath 1911-1960.” The decline of this species in Northamptonshire follows the national trend.
