Observations: The moth illustrated
was taken at light in Easton Hornstocks. The origin of the moth is
unclear, given that the species has a southerly resident distribution
and restricted to only a few known localities, but is suspected also
to be a migrant species. The 2017 record comes at a time of very warm
weather and concurrent with other records of migrant species in midland
counties. The larval foodplants include the withered leaves of Oak,
Beech and Sweet Chestnut.
