Trips 2004

We would advise you to contact the organiser (or via John Ward or Mark Hammond) to check that the event is going ahead before you set off. If the weather proves too unpleasant, trips may be postponed or canceled at very short notice.

Night time moth trapping sessions will convene shortly before dusk (unless otherwise stated below), but it may also be prudent to contact the organiser prior to the event to ascertain exact details.

Note that the trips to record Red-tipped Clearwing will be daytime events using pheromone lures and very dependent on fine weather.

A full list of species recorded will be placed on this site shortly after each trip. Click on each "Location" to view these as links become active.

Please note that our field events take place mostly at night, outside, and involve 240V/13 amp electrical equipment and potentially hot light bulbs. These may pose potential risks of injury as a result of tripping, falling, colliding with unseen objects, etc. We make no guarantee that a qualified first-aider will be present at any field meeting. The organisers usually carry a mobile telephone but reception may be poor or absent depending on the site. Please remember to bring a torch and wear suitable footwear and warm clothing. Members are reminded that they attend field meetings at their own risk, as individuals. Children are more than welcome, but we must ask that they be supervised by an adult at all times. Finally, we hope that you find these events enjoyable and we hope to see you at one or more of the following events.
